Socioeconomic development means many things. The original SSP drivers - population, GDP and urbanization - helped scientists, policymakers and curious citizens to imagine different futures for key socioeconomic variables. But many more emerged in the literature over the past ten years. Here we bring to you stories behind these numbers, where scientists share their motivation to expand the scenario space further.
